As the result of tho success of the Labor movement m the Motherland, a movement has boen started in Canada to organise- a Labor party there. . SYDNEY, April 2. Ward, master of tha steamer Manly, was acquitted" on a charge of manslaughter of Mrs Hemming, killed in a collision with a launch on January 28. The origin of the recent big fire still remains a mystery. Much interest was taken in a public debate between Mr G. Reid and Mr Holman, a member of the Assembly, on the question of Socialism, Two thousand were present.
