Inquest.

An inquest concerning the death of Percival Weather ley, aged two year*, who was poisoned at liaukaanui, wan held at Makuri on Friday. .Evidence was given by the father of the deceased and Charles Henry Dickens to the effect that the child picked up a packet of bird poison, containing strychnine, while the father was temporarily absent from the room, and swallowed some of the poison. Emetics were given, but without the desired result. The child took convulsions, and died about- six hours afterwards. Br. Dawson, of Pahiatua, held a post mortem examination, and gave evidence to the effect that he found traces of strychnine in the stomach of the child. A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned.
