(Per Press Association.) PAHIATUA, This day, A meeting of delegates from the branches of the Farmers' Union was held here on Saturday, in connection with the conference to be held here on May 29. It was decided to invite the Premier, Minister Lands, Messrs Gjlruth, Kirk and Kinselia, Messrs Ross, Horasby, Hall and 'Hogg, M's.H.R., and Mr W.C. Buchanan to attend a smoke concert in the evening. WELLINGTON, This Bay! The Premier has received a cablegram from Sir Joseph Ward intimating that he and Lady and Miss Ward have arrived safely at Florence and expect to reach Rome next Sunday. NELSON, This day. The steamer Cygnet, of Lyttelton, was towed in yesterday by the Kennedy, disabled. The Cygnet left Lyttelton on Thursday for Pelorua Sound to load cattle. On .Friday, when near the Sounds, the shaft broke and the steamer Kennedy was sent for and brought the Cygnet in.
