Manawatu Meeting.

The following are the weights in the Manawatu Stakes aud Champion Hack Piute, w.f.a.:—

The heavy ram on Saturday and Sunday nights did not in any way interfere tfith the tracks at Awapum, which are iti excellent condition, the plough never being better. That, together with the grass gallop, the course proper and the appointments generally reflect the greatest credit upon Caretaker Stevens, who certainly spares no trouble to keep everything in tip top condition. The outside of the course proper was used yesterday and again this morning for what little fast work was done and shows no signs of the galloping. On Sunaay morning J. Prosser, Cutts, iS. Waddeil, J. Maher, and others who were out restricted their charges to medium pace useful work. This morning Glenowlet, the Stakes candidate, did half a mile at a smart pace; Chryseis ran a strong seven furlongs, and Stronghold Went once round. Lady Wayward did good strong-work. Achilles, with Jenkins up, ran six furlongs at three-quarter pace, and Barca, Prospector and Ellerton ran seven furlongs at a strong batj the former having the best of the gallop. S. Waddeil had his team out before-breakfast, but no fast work was done by any of the horses. Captain Shannon, Tupono and Solution arrived to-day, and will take up their quarters at A. Peters' stables, Awapum. Lord Soult is said to have broken down badly at Foxton on Saturday.
