The "Ticket."
(To the Editor)
Sir,—Palmerstonianß should f..el very grateful to you for exposing the famous "Tiaket." It is quite apparent the agitatioa ha* been got up purely in toe interest of question 12; the previous eleven are only the sug.u--coating to tho nauseous principle; ... ,■ , Is ia not a question of tha present Council having dona wrong or having done rip hi. That is only a blind to trap the unwary voter to support so-called re-formers, (wolves in sheep's clothing), who are iua puraly in the interest of speculator", who with .o get streets laid off and taken over by the borough io an unfinished state, and then call upon the general ratepayer to complete the streets at a heavy drain upon the rateß, thereby gold-lining the pockets of the already wealthy speculator
1 am aware of three properties now waiting to be cut up, as soon as the presant conditions for new streets oan be knocked out.
Ratepayers, beware how you promise your votes; don't bo tempted by tbe gilded pill, or you will have to pay tbe pipar, i.o„ speculator.
It is ihe pooiest who will dance most severely to the piper's tut.es.—l &m, etc. R. Essex.
