JlanaAvatu Rugby Union.

(Continued from page 7). A meeting of the Management Committee of tha Manawatu Rugby Union was held last evening in Messrs Belli Gully and Cooper's office.. The.r9 was a good attendance and Mr CH. Warden presided.

Included in the correspondence dealt. with was a letter from the New Zealand' Union, intimating that £1 deben'uresin, connection with the English tour of the New Zealand team were now being issued, and could be obtained on application to the secretary.- Received. ■ In reference to a communication from the New Zealand Union on the subject, it was decided to appoint Dr Peach, of Palmerston, examining medical officer for any player who^ might be selected from this district to accompany the English team.

. A deputation, consisting of Dr Peach, Messrs Warden, Gibbons, Bunting and Manning, was appointed to interview the A. and P. Society and make arrangements re the übb of the Showground for the ensuing season.-

The annual meeting of the Union was fixed for Thursday, April 18th, at the Fire Brigade Hall.

It was decided, to recommend to the incoming committee the advisability of employing 'a salaried secretary, as the duties were considered too multifarious for an honorary position. .

The committee also recommended that no junior team 3be accepted by the Union, except as second to a senior team, with the exception of school teams.

Members of clubs should see that their last year's subscription is paid, as the forfeit list will be read at the annual meeting of the Union. ';

A quantity of other business was transacted and the meeting adjourned to Tuesday evening next.
