Manawatu Poultry Association.
The annual meeting of members of the Manawatu Poultry Association was held last night. There was a very good I attendance. Mr W. Keeling presided. I The'first business transacted" was consideration of the agreement entered into between the Poultry Association and the A. and P. Association, the agreement being read to the meeting. The salient points were that the individuality of the Poultry Association should be preserved; the A. and P. Association to apportion prize money for the annual show and other necessary expenditure; all moneys received for membership, and from other sources, to.be the property of the A. and P. Association; the officers of the Poultry Association to be a president, four vice-presidents, and a committee of seven; the chairman Of the Winter Show committee to be ex-officio President of the Poultry As- , sooiation; the vibe-president of the Poultry. Association to be chosen from its members; the secretary of the A', and P. Association'-to be secretary of the Poultry Association; the committee of the Poultry Association to be chosen from its members and their duties to bej with tbe BBsi9tance of three members of the A. and P. Association (Winter Show committee), to compile annually a sohedule of prizes for the show, also to appoint stewards for various duties at the chow, such stewards to be under tbe control of the chief steward of the Winter Show, committee; should" the Poultry Association desire to annul the ' agreement. then it must first repay, to the A. and P. Association all liabilities and expenses undertaken by the A. and P. Association; the liabilities of the Poultry Association to be met by the A. and P. The agreement was unanimously approved of, and ithe following resolution was then carried without dissent .:— "That; the agreement entered' into between the A. and P. next, showed the receipts during the year to have totalled £260 17s 7d, including Bank balance from, last year £76 Is Bd, entries at the lato show £82 7s 6d, art union £415s sd, members' fees £16l0s, sale of birds £15 16s, door takings £11 5s fid, sundry accounts making up the total. The principal items of disbursement were prize monies £89 4s 6d, stationery, etc., £27 6s 4d, nuggets fart union) £25 08 9d, cartage £12 11s 6d, rent of hall £10, labour at show £22, balance at bank £30. Liabilities totalled £108 lls lid and; assets, balance' at Bank £5 16s 7d, cash in hand £24 7s sd, plant £70. Deficit £4, 16s sd.
.The balance-sheet was' adopted after slight discussion on several items, particularly with regard : to members who went to the annual dinner and up to the present have failed to pay for their dinner tickets. \ ■■-••■,■
Messrs Munro,'Keeilng. H. S. Fitzherbert, and Guy were elected vicepresidents and Messrs Mounsey, E. H. Whalley, Manttari, V. - v Fitzherbert, Greer, Tucker and Fowler a general committee.
The meeting adjourned after passing a vote of thanks to Mr W. Keeling for the work done by him in connection with the amalgamation.
