BRISBANE, March 16. The inmates of the Aramac's boats, though they suffered severely owing to the rough sea and cramped condition, on the whole escaped without any serious consequences. Only one life was lost, tbat of an old man of 80, who, after rescue, •and suffering from -dementia from exposure, was missed. It is supposed he jumped overboard.

The rescuing- steamers had "much •difficulty in transferring those in the boats aboard in the heavj' sea, and one or two received slight injuries.
