PECULIAR CHARGE OF FRAUD.
A CREDULOUS WIDOW,

London, July 29. . Two men—George Thompson; alias Stephen, claiming to bo a Bendigo miner, and Charles M'Nally — have been charged at Bow-street with defrauding a widow named Annie Eenwick, of Bourke-street, Melbourne." -
'Mrs Renwick is now on a voyage to Melbourne, but has promised the police she will return; She alleges that the' prisoners took her and her daughter to Paris and promised them marriage. Then, under various pretexts, they, obtained £800 from her, but no marriage resulted. The accused was remanded.
Melboubne, July 29. The men Thompson and M'Nally, arrested in London on a charge of defrauding Mrs Renwick of £800, are believed to be identical with well known spielers. The former has been frequently convicted, and the latter absconded from his bail. -
The lady's identity has not been established.
