ANNIVERSARY SERVICES

The Cuba-street Wesleyan Church celebrated its anniversary yesterday by holding special services. TJie Rev H R, Dewsbury, of Wanganui, was the preacher for.the^day, conducting three services, in the morning, afternoon and evening, that in the afternoon being particularly for the Sunday School scholars. Mr Dewsbury . .delivered eloquent and suitable addresses at all the services andjie was listened to most attentively. Quite a feature of the anniversarywas tho exceptionallylarge congregations which have attended all the services. This was specially noticeable in tho evening when every available seat was occupied. The singing was, as usual, ota nrstolass order, the anthems and congregational hymns being heartily rendered; by the choir and congregation Solos were taken by Mrs Malcolm, and Mrs F. Mowlem,-Misses E. Mowleni, Hopwood, and Martin and Messrs W. Grace, Davis, Billens and Win'gate. Mr F. Cornwall played a violin solo at the evening service. The orchestra comprised the following :—Organ, Miss E Mowlem; violins, Messrs Cornwall, and Hedge; cornet, Mr Williams, bass viol Mr W.fGrace; trombone, Mr Jones' jo' x? nson- mJ- E- Wingate conducted the singing during the day The annual,soiree will be held on Wednesday evening.
