Sneak Thieves.—Constables Whelan and Henry arrested two men at 12 80 a.m. on Sunday morning, just as they wero getting away with their loot from the fowl ho'uso of Mr J. J. May, storekeeper, Waihi. The constables had hid in the manuka surrounding tho house, and hearing a row in tho hen roost, proceeded to the spot, and met two men comiug out with a flour-bag containing three hens with their necks screwed. The thieves were lodged in the lock-up and brought before the Justices on Monday morning and fined £2 10s and costs 8s 9d each for their little night ramble. They are both married men named Ward and Cameron, and live in the township.
