BENGAL LANCERS TO THE RESCUE.

Tientsin, September 14. British signal officers report a sharp engagement between one company of the 14th U.S.A. Infantry and 2000 Bosers at Mo-tao, on the Pekin road. The Americans made a gallant stand, and a dctachmeut of the Bengal Lancers, who happened to be in the vicinity, hearing the firing, came to tho rescue and charged the Boxers m tho rear. Tho enemy were routed, and left 200 dead on the field. There were no Americau casualties.
