Cheltenham Sports.

The committee of the Cheltenham Sports Club met on Saturday evening to make various arrangements in connection with the sports to be held on March 7. It was decided to engage the Feilding Brass Band to play at the sports. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange a steeplechase course, and it was decided to allow any horse to compete in the high jump for horses, which had not won a first prize. It was reported that the ground was now in good order the grass on the running track having been cut and rolled; also that the pavilion and the shed for the luncheon room had been erected. From every appearance this will be the best sports'' gathering in every respect yet held at Cheltenham and second to none, for a country meeting, on the coast. Coaches will meet the first train from Palmerston in time for the first race. Nominations close 22nd February.
