The usual monthly meeting of the above comnjittetf was held last. evening, when the following nittinber.s were present: — Messrs' J, P. 1 Learv (ohaiij, .Wrisrhtf, Hawkins, Woodroofe, WaltoM, and Hbsking. v The Board wrote forwarding the names . of applicants for the position of assistant master at the Central School :. — Messrs Matlueson, Rule, Gelling, Low, and Delaney. ' After some discussion it was resolved to ifecominfendj the appointment of Mr Mathieson.j . f The Board wrote declining .to do ariyr , thing m the matter of fencing, the Ter-i race End school ground, as they were entirely without funds for building purposes, ; ■ ■ . , Me assistant mistress for the Terrace Ijfid |School, the Board stated that- the attendance at this school did not warrant an appointment, and-: that for, the present a pupjlieadhet. would have, to act.< An entertainment to take place early m February having been* jprojnised .the committee; on behulf^of'jtne^-schoois' byMr Ferguskon, the members present resolved to unite and assist m every way to bring about a success; .
