An ordinary meeting .of this board wat held on Saturday. Present— Wardens Macarthur (chairman), Liuton, and Jones. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read as follows : — From Win. Salisbury, re transfer of his name to that of John Humphries for section 34. Makino-road. From A. McCool, re alteration of his name to F. W. Funnell for section 83, Ashurst. From J. H. Taylor, applying for a renewal of his slaughtering licence. From G. N. Stevenson and W. D. Nicholas, asking for the appointment of works on the contract for the construction of the Manawatu Gorge bridge. From J. Saxon, applying for an expenditure on the Taonui-road, and promising on behalf of the settlers m th» Wanganui Harbour Board block a sum of £6 if the Manchester Board would supplement it £ for M. The committee appointed to open tenders for the Manawatu Gorge bridge reported that Arthur Bauckhaw's tender had been accepted for the Gorge bridge, at £3,180 7s B<l. Resolved, " That the fee for slaughtering licence tor 1886, m the Manchester Road Board District be £1 ; and that the fee payable be one-halfpenny for every head of small cattle, and threepence ior every head of great eattl* slaughtered ; and that Mr C. Bray bo slaughter-house inspector." Kesolved, "That J. H. Taylor'i ap. plication for renewal of slaughtering licence be granted." Resolved, " That the transfer of sec* tion 33 from A. McCool to F. W. Funhell be made as requested." Resolved, "That the transfer of section 34 from W. Salisbury to J. Humphries be made as requested;" Resolved, " That the ■; report of th» committee appointed to accept tenders for the Gorge bridge be adopted and, their action ratified." Warden P. Jones gave notice ot motion at next meeting as follows :— T hat everr bonajide occupier of 40 acres ot land and upwards m the Manchester Bead Board .district be allowed to keep one dog at a tax of ss ; and that every, bonafide occupier of 200 acres, or more, be allowed to ; keep two dogs at v tax of 5s each ; and that a tax of 10s each be charged oh all other dogs." , " ■■ - ; • The monthly accountr were passed to the' amount of £38 13s sd, »nd the board adjourned.
