Herald.] The Secretary or the Wanganui Fo 0 ' 1 -" ball Club (Mr Jno. Stevenson) has received a letter from the Secretary of the Palmers ton Club, intimating that as the match could not be arranged for the date which they first proposed, and the team which was coming here, has itself been defeated by thit from Feilding, the match with Wanganui will fall through. If the challenge had been accepted for the 28 tn, it would probably have come off. The Secretary intimates however, that if tho Wanganui Club are willing, steps will be taken to communicate with the other Clubs on the coast to arrange for a match, Manawatu County y. Wanganui. Mr Stevenson, of cou r se, replied m the affirmative. The . men, also, are anxious for the return match with them, and have telegraphe i requesting a settlement of the date on which it is to be played. Our men have got plenty of work cut Oat for them.
