WELLINGTON" MARKETS. . PRODUCE QtTOT ATIONS. Wellington, May 28. .George Thomas reports produce ; prices last week as follows :— Oats^ c^ull at 2s 5d to 2s 74 with only local enquiry. Flour, £11 10s ; bran, £1 10s ; pollard, jßsrlss , oatmeal, £13 10s to £14 ; maize, 4s 3d ; wheat, 3s 6d to 3s 9d; bams, lid ; bacon, Bjs<l ; cheese, 6§d to 7d; batter, 10d; chaff, M. A well aßsorted. shipment of Hbbart and Nelson fruit was submitted at the produce sale this morning, but the market being quite overstocked prices were not satisfactory, and m most cases did n'otcover invoice rates.
Hassel & Co. report prices of produce as under :— sFlonr and oatmeal without alteration, Bran, ,£i. 10s j pollard, £fo ios. v Potatoes.— ?A large quantity have arrived during the week, but of in* , ferior quality, and one line of 360 sacks^ : offered on the wharf this morning, was withdrawn at 47s 6d per ton. Onions are scarce, £9 to £10 being- asked for small lots. Cheese has advanced m price Id to l^d per lb. Chaff is scarce at £4. Salt butter, 9d to lOd ; eggs, 3s. fruit is a perfect drug, and difficult to quit at any price, Oats have come, m freely bat prices remain firm;at 2s 6d ' to 2s 9d ; fowl wheat, , 3s. to -3a^9d ;• maize; 3s 6d per bushel.
