ATTEMPT TO FLOAT THE SCHOONER FRIENDSHIP.
; O amaru. May 22. An attempt "was made to-day to float the schooner Friendship, bat it proved fruitless. She went down the skids all right,! but when, she left them she struck: on this shingle beach and stuck there, &U efforts to get her afloat being unavailing. An effort,. may be made next tide to heave her off the beach, and if this fails she will be raised again. .
