A uhanty keeper has been murdered at Albury by a swagman, who also attempted to murder the daughter of his victim and fired the hut for the purpose of concealing his crime. The murderer has been arrested.

H.M.S. corvette Emerald, belonging to the Australian squadron, has left for the Solomon Group, in order to avenge the murder of the commander and several of the crew of H.M.S. schooner Sandfly. FOREIGN. London, December 2. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £14,750,000. The state of the wheat and tallow market is dull. At the wool sales to-day 8800 bales were offered, making a total of 71,400 catalogued Bince the opening. The tone of sales is weaker, and withdrawals to <late 2000 bales. Mr Parnell, on account of the meeting •of Parliament, has applied for postponement of the trial of the Land Leaguers. It is proposed to send American lawyers to Dublin to defend their cases. Outrages in Ireland are still on the increase. Additional bodies of marines have been ordered to Ireland, the importation of arms being still on the increase. England has made a proposal to the other Powers not to disperse the combined fleet, and maintains that they should still continue to act in concert to execute the remainder of the Berlin Treaty. December 3. Russia ha 3 consented to tho proposal of England that the combined fleet shall not •disperse until the remainder of the Berlin Treaty is fully executed. The total stock of tallow in London on the Ist instant was 14,300 casks. At the wool sales to-day, 7600 balos were offered making a total of 79,000 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale was quiet. December 4. At the wool sale to-day 8300 bales were offered, making a total of 87,300 catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale showed that prices were flrmly maintained. The County of Leitrim, Ireland, has •been gazetted a disturbed district. The combined fleet off Dulcigno dispersed on Saturday, the British portion proceeded to Malta. The Earl of Ripon is suffering from a severe attack of fever. The ship Araby Maid, which went ashore last month at Kingston, has been successfully floated. The cargo has not apparently suffered any damage. The application of Parnell that the trial of himself and the other Leaguers for conspiracy, which is fixed to take place nt the end of the month, should be postponed on account of the meeting of Parliament on the 6th January, has been refused by the Irish Judges. A largely attended meeting, under the •auspices of the Irish Land League, was held yesterday at Waterford. The most prominent agitators were present and addressed the meeting. Mr Parnell made a speech on the occasion, and spoke bitterly against the action of the present Govern ment, accusing it of having conspired against the rights of the people of Ireland. December 7. At the wool sales to-day, 5200 bales were offered, making a total of 92,500 bales catalogued since the opening. The tone of the sale is firm. The Turkish Government has addressed a circular nbte to the Foreign Ambassadors to the Porte, containing proposals for mediatory action by the Great Powers towards bringing about an understanding for the settlement of the Greco-Turkish frontier question. News has been received from Scutari that owing to tho settlement of the cession of Dulcigno to the Montenegrins, the Albanian°League has now been dissolved. Washington, December 2.
