Gimmerburn Returned Soldiers' Ball.

What was, undoubtedly, the most successful function held at Gimmerburn for some time was the Returned Soldiers' Ball which took place on Friday, the ISth inst. A large gathering composed of people from all parts of the district completely filled the .hall, although not uncomfortably overcrowding it.

j The decorations and general arrangeI incuts reflected great credit on the energetic secretary, Mr Alex Kerr, who certainly was the man for tin: .job. About 35 couples took partin the Grand March which was led off by the secretary and Miss Kerr at 9 p.m. The catering was in the hands of |Mr Wood, Duncdin, and an excellent ! sapper was provided.

Messrs Moore (piano) and Law (Tioliu) supplied theiiiusic, and Mr A. HIU made an efficient M.C.
