The monthly meeting of committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs F_ Inder (chair), Dawson, McNeil, Ryan. Minutes. The minutes of last meeting were read, and confirmed on the motion of Messrs Dawson and Ryan. Correspondence. Among the outward correspondence was a letter to Miss Williamson, Kokonga, thanking her for her past services as collector, and letters to two young ladies of the district asking them if they would undertake the duties—both of whom could not see their way to comply with the request. The usual report was forwarded to the Hospital Board, and an application made to the Commercial Union as surance Co. for a renewal of the accident policy.—The usual resolution receiving and approving thecorrespondence was passed. On the suggestion of Mr McNeil it waa decided to get the policy issued in the name of the Maniototo Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, as the committee was appointed by and acted under the board.

Three males and three females had been discharged, and one female had died, leaving under treatment three males and one female. Tbe deceased patient was Mrs D. Marshall. Seven outpatients had attended 12 times. Donations:—Mr J. Forrester, side of lamb; Ginsberg and Co, confectionery and cordial; Brown and Son, confectionery; Mr J. JRyan, cordial; Mr H. Resolved —That during the ensuing month Mr Brown supply the groceries, Mr Moure the meat, and Mr Jones the bread. Finance. On the motion of Mr McNeil and the chairman, accounts amounting to £76 4s lid were passed for payment. Infectious Diseases Ward. Mr A. E. Tnder submitted a sketch plan of building for an infectious diseases ward. Before having a complete plan and specification drawn up it would be necessary for the committee tosay if the accommodation provided for was sufficient for requirements. .Nothing was provided for but what seemed to be absolutely necessary, and yet the figure mentioned by the committee would not be sufficient to erect the building in a substantial way. When the committee decided what alterations, if any, they wished made, a close estimate could be made. It would be difficult to make a more compact building, providing the same accommodation, and at the same time meeting present day requirements in regard to ventilation. (The amount mentioned by the committee was £450.) Resolved—That the secretary be instructed to forward the sketch plan and Mr Inder's letter to the board, with the recommendation that" th£ plan would provide for -suitable accommodation. If approved by tbe board the committee proposed to get final plans and specifications drawn out and call for tenders if they were approved by the Health Officer.
