At tlie Land Board's meeting it was decided to waru lessees ot seve al small grazing runs who were in arrears with half year's reut that if the rents were not paid witliiu a month the Board mast forfeit the leases. Mr- -District Surveyor Barron, referring to 11. Geoffrey's letter with regard to his beiug allowed to remove his fence or to obtain compensation, staled that the improvements were on a reserved section, and for that reason he had not estimated their value, H. H. Messent's improvements on sections 15 and IS, block vn., he valued at £36 16s. —Geoffrey to be iuformed accordingly, but to be allowed to remove the improvement the valuation of improvements on sections 15 and IS to be added to the price of the section when notified subject to the app oval of the Governor. Ranger Hughan, reporting on the application of J. J. Ramsay for a license to occupy section 7, block vi., Rock and Pillar district, a mining reserve, stated he saw no objection to the license being granted—Mr, Martin objected on behalf of P. Kenny.—Referred to Ranger Hughan to report as to ivhethw there was any objection to dealing with the block in question on the ground of its be;n<r auriferous, or for coal-mfning or for givinS access to run 205 a. °
Ranger Hughan, reporting on Mr. W. L.Simpson's application (on behalf of persons interested in the bona fide occupation of certain sections in block vxr., Strath-Taieri), called attention to the fact that six months had elapsed since the sections had been Taken over, and as yet the licensees had not complied with the conditions of license. Licensees to receive notice io show cause within one month from date why the leases should not be forfeited. Ranger Hughan reported that he had in- . sp;cted small grazing run section 2, block ' Xir., Rock and Pillar, held by James Hay, ami suggested thas the lessee should be called upon to show cause why his holding should uot be forfeited for non-complianco with the conditions of lease.—To be notified to show cause within one month.
