NEWS AND NOTES. Some time on Wednesday night the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption at Onehunga was broken into and two sacred vessels, valued at £3O, were stolen. An old couple in England have just celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary. They are Mr and Mrs William Walker, of Wainlleet, Lincolnshire, and they claim,to have been married longer' than any other couple in England. They are 96 and 93 respectively.
