A bad stench is reported from the creek adjoining the Borough Council Chambers.
The continued dry weather is having a very serious effect on stock throughout this district and rain is badly needed. A grass fire threatened the Presbyterian manse in the Lady’s Mile yesterday but was beaten out by a number of residents.
