POLICE MOTOR-CAR AM-
BUSHED

Barry, a fireman on an Atlantic liner, was sentenced to two months' imprisonment at Bow Street foi-l-ringing -eight letters to England otherwise than through the post. The prosecution said that Barry was in close touch with the Irish revolutionaries in America.. The correspondence included a. letter from ])e Va-lera denying that. he was improperly spending Sinn Fein funds.
An armed party ambushed a police motor-car betftveen Cloghnne and I)ingk\ in T County Kerry. They shot dead two constables and seriously vounded a police inspector and chauffeur. . The raiders .stole arms and ammunition. •
