SIR GEORGE CROSSES THE
STRAIT
Sir George Clifford left Blenheim yesterday in his own motor car, in which he had travelled up from ChrLstchurch, and, reaching -Picton, he was conveyed by a. launch to Tory Channel, whoro ho was picked up by a fast launch. He arrived at Island Isav at about six o'clock last evening* and on landing wn.s accorded an ovation by a. crowd of friends and sympathisers'.
