'Gordon Tweedie, a returned soldier, was convicted at the Magistrate's, Court and .ordered to come, up for'sentence when called upon for false representation to tho Canterbury Repatiriation Board in order to obtain an advance -to start a hairdiressing and : tobacconist business. The man • stated that ho had experience, btTb.it.'Was discovered later that he hadnqne, having l>een a blacksmith. the :.latter . confession being made wlvjri Tweedie presented & doctor's cortificate. that he was suffering.-from heuresthenia. It was then discovered that his. business v/as a failure. Tbo ocs© was, brought as a warnino;, tlu> Board not pressing for a penalty.
