AUCKLAND, July 4

The transport Tahiti arrived this morning via Panama, with 1194 ticops. Tlie-jtroops are all A class. There was no sickness except a few cases of mumps. The voyage was uneventful except that the Tahiti had a narrow escape of being run down a week after leaving Colon. During a heavy fog_ she slowed down, and stopped her ongines. Suddenly another big ship swept across her hows, the Tahiti just passing her astern. The Wellington and South Island riC'ii remained on hoard the vessel, which .sails this afternoon.
