The New York Times's Tokio correspondent states that the Japanese press is voicing a strong protest against the proposed formation or" a consortium of British, American, French,* iand Japanese bankers for the purpose^ of extending financial assistance to Cliina. The papers declare that the plan would deprive Japan of the special position and privileges she has heretofore enjoyed in China.
The Times's Washington correspondent learns that official advices from Pekin state that the Japanese Foreign Minister has protested to the Chinese Government against the continued boycott of Japanese goods in Cliina as a result or resentment over the Shantung settlement.
