Expenditure to .date (curent year) £6205 8s sd. Estimated cost of works authorised, not yet completed, £5211 12s 6d. * The request of the Rapaura. The alteration of t\w mmc of Okiki IBay (Polorus Sound} School to Finners Bay was authorised. • The'question of holidays in the Marlborough ward was referred to the secretary and inspector, with power to' arrange suitable terms to suit the geographical circumstances of the district. The request of the committee- at Picton that Miss -Macalister and Miss M. Harris be promoted was agreed to, and it was decided to • re-advertis© the position as assistant there. The announcement was made that the chairman was retiring from educational activities as a member of the Bbaid. Mr A. W. Hogg moved a ■vote of very hearty appreciation, and •was supported by cash member of the Board pr-33-Jit. ■ The conspicuous ability and courtesy with which Mr Aitfcen has filled the chair has greatly facilitated the business of the Board, which is of considerable magnitude.
