In the- A.^embly, Mr Hall taWed papers dealing with the allegation that £1000 was paid to Ministers'in connection with the passage of the Wheat Acquisition Bill. Police inquiries disclosed that a commission agent and another largely^ interested iii wheat contracts engaged' the sea-vices of a Sydney solicitor with a view to securing the cancellation of those contract.*, and promising payment of £1000" for professional services, and £360 of this was paid. The papers completely exonerated" Ministers and Members of Parliament. , ' '
