POLITICAL REFORM LEAGUE FORMED AT SEDDON.
A large and enthusiastic.gathering, 'including a number of ladies, responded to the invitation to meet in the Town Hall at Seddori last evening for the purpose -of forming: a. branch of the Political Reform League. Mr J. G. Armstrong was elected chairman.
Mr J. Duncan was present, and shortly addressed the meeting, explaining the reasons why he was offering his'services as a candid ate at the .forthcoming election. Mr Duncan said'he had .no hestitation im coming forward as a supporter of the,present pai-tyin power, as their policy was practically identical with the principles upon which he had always stood in the past. He considered that the Government's administration since tliey had assumed office was sufficient to .justify the people of the Dominion in returning them to power art the elections.
Mr C. Ferguson strongly advocated the .advantages of organising, and explained the objects of the League. Over oO members were enrolled out of an attendance of about 70. Several local members of the Blenheim League intimated their desire later on to transfer fh'eir membership. A .strong working committee was set up, with Mr Armstrong as chairman and Mr J. Marfell as secretary. All the ladies present were elected a; ladies' committee, with power to add to their number.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Duncan for his attendance, and best wishes were tendered for his success. A voite of thanks to the chairman concluded a very successful meeting.
