RUGBY UNION
A meeting of the executive of the Marlborough Rugby Union was held 3ast evening, the attendance being as follows: —Messrs J. L. Lord (chair- ! vman), H. R, Bagge, G. C. Griffiths, ; J. Strickland, J. H. Priddle, and A.v Prentice ■vPrentice (secretary). . ■'■' 1 , Members were agreed as to the desirability of the Awatere Club being /represented in this season's competitions, and Messrs Lord and Griffiths .were deputed to attend the club's annual meeting. ' Messrs Griffiths, Priddle, and Prentice were appointed a sub-committee . to consider the revision of the rules,
and to submit any proposed" amend-
merits to next meeting. I' - •, The chairman reported having * • 'visited Remvick with Mr Strickland, r.and having discussed the status, from ? a club point of view, of players there. It was clearly understood, he stated, ..that the Central Club, being that in > which Remvick was interested, had • prior claim over any players' suitable • for senior football. He also advised • that Renwiek would be represented by a junior team styled Central B. ■ [ It was intimated that a scheme was being formulated which had in view tihe purchase of a ground and the establishment of an up-to-date gymnasium, and, on the motion of Messrs Griffiths and Strickland, it was deckled to apply to the New Zealand "Union for a grant of £1750 for these purposes.
