MINE MANAGER FINED

AUCKLAND, June 20. A sequel to the fatal accident at the Talisman Mine on March 28th, when W. Hyde and T. Mcßride were lolled, was heard at Paeroa Court to-day. M. Paul, mining inspector, proceeded, against the Talisman Company and their mine manager for failing to comply with the instructions regarding any of the men riding in the skips, and for failing to have the rope tested every three months as required by the regulations. The charge against the company was withdrawn, and the mine manager (J. Rickard) was fined £10 on each charge, and ordered to pay the costs of the proceedings.
