LONDON, Jan. 20. Priiiee Albert, the ( second son of the King, for whom a naval career ■has tieen mapped out. is^ now on fooarfl H;M.S. Cumberland, where he will live in a nautical atmosphere and )eani fcabits of obedience and command.
TkdYrince will undergo a systeroa-j tic course of 'instruction in seaman-^ ?inp, engineering, gunnery, and in' all .the other branches of -work on j hosrS a warship. He will have to
take sights like other cadets, and do duty in the engine-room. It is not intended to accelerate the promotion of the Prince, but to make iiim rise under the ordinary system. Queen Mary's dislike of Americans is declared to be the real reason why H.M.S. Cumberland will not touch at New York or any other port in the United States. It was originally planned that the Cumberland should call at New York, but the itinerary was changed at the last minute.
