SUFFRAGETTES ON THE WARPATH.
MORE WINDOW SMASHING
SEVERAL ARRESTED
[PKESS ASSOCIATION.] '(Received Jan. .29, 9.45 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 29. • Suffragettes smashed a number of windows in the Treasury,'and also in the shipping companies' offices in Cockspur Street.
The police rescued several militant suffragettes from a menacing crowd m Whitehall.
Altogether 22 suffragettes were arrested, chiefly for resisting the police.
A deputation visited the House of Commons and demanded to see Mr Lloyd George. The latter refused, but said that hs was prepared to receive them to-morrow..
Mrs Drammond said that the reply was unsatisfactory. The deptitation attempted to enter St. Stephen's Hall and in the scrimmage several, Including Mrs Drummond, werei arrested.
