A cablegram from Ottawa reports the death of Sir E. Cloueton, manager of the Bank of Montreal.
On Friday afternoon Miss Christine Henrys, the eldest daughter of M_r J. E. Henrys, the well-known handicapper, was married at Wellington to Mr Reginald. Healy, a popular figure yd. swimming circles. In the evening the happy couple left for Sydney by the Maunganui, and there was a creat muster on the wharf to give Ihe departing pair a send off.
Mr James Hendierson, of Dunsandel, who was injured in a motorcar accident on Wednesday last, when returning from the Banks Peninsula show at Little River, died at the Cliristehurch Hospital on Friday night. The deceased was a prominent farmer, vice-president of the Canterbury A. and P. Association, and a member of the County Hospital Board.
A Wellington Press telegram reuorts the death, yesterday of Mr CSiarles Janson, at the age of 82 years. He was compiler of the first JHew Zealand Year Book, and at various times was on the etaff of aeveral of the South Island newspapers.
Th© funeral of the late Father 0. Tfennins. at Wellington yesterday was witnessed by 40,000 people, and of i&ese some 25,000 assembled at Karori. It was a military funeral, deceased having been chaplain in the Fifth Battalion. The ceremony at tie graveside was conducted by Father Augustus Yenning, deceased'.s brother.
