RIFLE SHOOTING.
BLENHEIM DEFENCE R.C. WIN THE SHIELD.
The final match for the SeniorShield (10 shots at each 800 and 90» yards) was fired at the Vernon rang* on Saturday last. Tua Marina and! Blenheim Defence A. team op tilS Saturday had won the same number of matches, and therefore had to shoot' off, the latter team winning by 52 points. The day was very hot and windy—as much as 18 to 25 degrees? at 800 yds and 25 to 30 degrees at 900* yds. Rifleman C. Hadfield was top for the day, counting out Rifleman: Neal. Some of the scores, considering the day, were really good. Th.9winning team were the same as hay« shot through the season with the exception of RiSeman Pope, who was* unable to attend, his place being" taken by Rifleman Hammond.
