BREAKIN' UP NEW LAND.
We're startin' bright an' early— A big day's work we've planned; While inornin' dew gleams pearly We're going to break new laaid. Plough harness in a tangle, An' teams-'too fresh to stand; Gee off! all jingle-jangle, We're gbin' to break new land. It's sweatin' an' it's strivin', An', bustin' trace a*id band; The best of teams need drivin', A-breakin' up new land. What Alexander wanted , To-day we may command; Fresh fields to face undaunted, A-breakin' up new land. Hope keeps us, lion-hearted,' An' nerves each strong right hand, For stumps and rocks uncharted, A-breakin' up new land. While Fortune smiles agprovin' On paddocks that expand,. Well keep our country • movin' By breakin' up new land. /
