MINISTER SAYS DUPLICATION
AUCKLAND, June 9
The ten Auckland business men «hosen to go into the question of the duplication of the Parnell tunnel waited on the Minister for Railways "to-day. Mr Millar said that he was quite satisfied with the personnel of the Commission. He had gone into the nuatter carefully, and had come to the conclusion that the duplication qf the tunnel would bo unnecessary for ten «r fifteen years. The Department could run 240 trains daily without the duplication, which would cost between £35,000 and £40,000, while there were much more important frail way^ works •in the Auckland \district calling for large expenditure^
