■ At St. Peter's, Havelock, on Sun<lay evening, the Rev. J. R. Burgin, in an address on missionary effort, .gave some ot his own experiences in that sphere in. Centra! Africa. His .address was founded on the command ..given-in St. Matthew, 28-19: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations." He dwelt upon the dangers encountered •by missionaries, and emphasised the fact that they carried, literally, their jliv'es in their hands on account of the ■deadly nature of the climate and the frequent hostility of the savages. The collection for this object amounted to jfil lls Bd, which was in addition to the usual offerings. Mr and Mrs W. Hunter's little -daughter "Bobbie," although making slow progress, is doing as satisfactorily a* could be expected under the circumstancevS.
