[PKESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received Nov. 15, S.o a.m.) ,/ LONDON, Nov. 14. 4s Mr Churchill was alighting at the station at Bristol, which he. was visiting in connection with the inward Colston , anniversary, a Leeds suffragette named Garnett traversed ■the cordon oi police, and shouting "Take, that, you -brute!" brought a •dog-whip down on Mr Churchill s head with-,, considerable force, the lash sweeping across his face. Mr Churchill grappled arid struggled with his assailant on the edge> or the platform and wrenched from her and pocketed the whip. Garnett was arrested. Speaking at the banquet in the evening. Mr Churchill _ said that stormy weather was coming. They would. have to. cope with the Lords, and also with the ladies, (Laughter). As Regards the Budget, he expressed ' defiance■ of the' House of Lords, and confidence in. the people. He declared' thai tho -forn-ei* were offering battle, on the-worst- possible ground for themselves.
