CORNERED AT LAST.
For nine long years he had been wooing the fair daughter of the farm. "Jennie," he mused, as they sat on the old rail fence, "I read the other day that in a thousand years the lakes of Killarney will dry up." Jennie clutched his arm excitedly. "Oh, Tom!" she exclaimed. ► "What's the matter, lass?" "Why, as you promised to take me there on the honeymoon, don't you think we'd better be a little careful that they don't dry up before we get there?" N.B.—The next week the wedding bells rang in the village.
