HOW TO RAISE £20,000,000. A GOVERNMENT BARGAINS; [PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] . (Received June 10, 8.15 a.m.) LONDON, June 9. In the House of Commons, Messrs H^ -Bbttomley and H. Cox made some sharp criticisms of the Budget, particularly regarding liquor licenses and land taxes. Mr Bottomley suggested the placing of a transfer stamp on stocks ana shares, claiming that it would realise £20,000.000 per annum. Mr Prettyman, dealing with the impossibility of estimating unworked minerals^ instanced Rosyth, where the j Admiralty paid Lord Linlithgow £15,000 and had since quarried £100,000 worth of stone, and not one-* I tenth had yet been quarried.
