TRAGEDY IN A COURT.
TWO LITIGANTS KILLED IN A
QUARREL
NEW YORK, March 8. Two men were instantly killed yesterday, and a third was mortally wounded at- the conclusion of a trial in Justice Berry's Court at Decautur, Alabama.
Two prominent local families^were concerned. W. F. Holland some years ago mortgaged property on which J. W. Turner recently foreclosed. Holland, however, refused to quit possession, and caused the arrest of Turner and his two sons for trespass. They were acquitted yesterday by the judge, whereupon Holland's son Walter drew a revolver, and shouted to Turner that he had committed perjury. Turner's two sons instantly drew knives and stabbed the two Hollands to the heart.
The Hollands had, however, succeeded in beating Turner, sen., over the head with such violence that he will not recover. The court officers were not able to reach the antagonists owing to the crowd in court. Several spectators were accidentally wounded. : The young Turners escaped to the mountains, and the Holland family, who organised an armed party, are searching for them. The Turners are related to the Hatfields, the famous Kentucky feudists, and the Hollands were conspicuous for their bravery during the Civil War.
