CARGO DID NOT SHIFT

At the Bega inquiry to-day, the chief officer, who had charge of stowing the cargo, said he knew that it did not shift, because it was a moral impossibility for it to do so. He did not.consider the' Bega a tender ship. He could advance no theory to account for the/ disaster; he had given up trying to solve the mystery.
