, WANGANUI, May 8. Ine contractors for the construction of the electric tramways are pushing on with the erection of the «ar-shed and power-house and preliminary work. The Mayor states • lie aspects the trams to be running by Chnstmas. The rails are expected to arrive in three or four weeks time, and the work of laying will commence as soon after as 'possible.
