POOR BISHOP.
A' certain -eloquent, bishop had preached to a country congregation, which, owing t«' bad weather, was very thin. ' •,\ .■ . . ■•■.- After the service one of the churchwardens, who had been struck by the sermon, but felt that' it had ' been somewhat thrown away, remarked: "On such a day your lordship might .ha' gi'en us a wusser sermon.-" "If your lordship could ha' gi'en us a wusser," put in the other churchwarden, who wished to be very complimentary indeed. :
