HAVELOCK.

(Our Own Cox respondent.)

Friday

Last evening in the Methodist Church a pleasing little function took place, when Mrs Toms, (who is leaving for Nelson on Saturaay) was presented with a Bible from members of the choir. Mrs Toms, who has been here but a short time, has made many friends, and she will be greatly missed.

Miss Wilson, who has been intimately associated with church work in Havelock for some years, was presented (prior to her departure on Wednesday next) with a handsome dress-ing-case from the members of the choir and friends. The Rev. Mr Richards, iv. making the presentations, said he had very great pleasure in asking Mrs Toms and Miss Wilson to accept the small gifts as a token of the very great regret, they felt at their departure, and to assure them ,of the good wishes of their friends in Havelock.
