SPEECH BY ADMIRAL FISHER

"READY FOR INSTANT WAR."

[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received Nov. 11, 10.16 p.m.) LONDON, Nov, 11.

Speaking at the Guildhall, Admiral Fisher, in responding to the toast of the Navy, declared that he was unable to find anywhere so fine a Fleet as the 26 battleships and 25 cruisers which have just finished manoeuvring an the North Sea ; yet that was only a of our power. The gunnery •efficiency of the Fleet was unparalleled, surpassing all records. The Fleet was ready for instant war, so that the British people might sleep quietly in their beds, undisturbed by the bogeys periodically resuscitated by all sorts of leagues.
